What do you love about Mission?

For a small community there is so much to do with all the lakes, hiking, and fishing; it's all right here.

Where are your favorite places to visit?

The Fraser River

I love what I do, and nothing excites me more than taking my boat out and sharing the beauty and wildlife the river perspective offers; it’s so different from driving.  October and November are our busiest time with the salmon returning to spawn, which attracts seals and thousands of eagles for this incredible spectacle of nature, but regardless of the time of year there is always something worth seeing from a trip down the river.

Cascade Falls

The drive up to the falls is beautiful, taking you from Mission City along the edge of the Fraser River and then winding through country lanes into scenic mountain backdrops.  You can see this amazing waterfall after a really short 1km walk and cross the suspension bridge, which is a great place to take photos.  We like to bring the family and picnic by the creek.

Rocko’s Diner

This is the oldest burger joint in town and is open 24 hours a day, offering everything from breakfast to a long list of milkshakes and burgers.  It’s the selfie spot in town, as it doubled as Pops Chocklit Shoppe in the TV show Riverdale.

Mission Raceway Park

This offers something completely different during the summer, from big weekend race events to Friday Night Street Legal or the Drifting.  It's great family fun to sit on the bleachers and see cars flying down the track.  You can go over the bridge to see the cars up close and chat with the drivers; its a really relaxed and easy-going atmosphere.

Stave Lake

The lake is great for boating, and with all the new campgrounds up there, it is becoming another great place to take the family.  Sayres Lake is a good option for kayaking and Kearsley Creek is right not the water's edge so the kids can paddle.
