Who says camping is just for summer months? When most people are packing up after the long summer season, others head out for some of the best camping for the year. Fall can be one of the most beautiful seasons to camp, with warm days hiking and fishing that fade into cool, crisp evenings gathered around a crackling fire. Another benefit of camping in the fall time is the better availability of campsites, as the busy season is over. With a quieter park, you can enjoy quality time with your friends and family without the hassle of crowds and before the nice weather fades away.
Top Tip: We recommend camping mid-week for best selection of campsites!

FALL CAMPING ESSENTIALS
For those who are new to fall camping, it’s important to know that fall camping can be a bit different from summer camping. Here are a few tips for staying safe and prepared while outdoors.
Weather here in Mission can fluctuate quickly from warm and sunny to cool and wet. While it is hard to predict how the weather might change from day to day, it’s best to prepare for all types of weather! Bring a variety of layers so you can adapt to the weather and stay comfortable and warm.
Fall nights can be a lot colder than summer nights. Make sure to pack a good sleeping bag that has proper insulation, as well as warm blankets for additional warmth.
Fall in Mission can also be very rainy. One way to stay dry is by bringing tarps to put under your tent, and a tarp above for any other additional protection from the weather.
