What do you love about Mission?

The thing that I love most about Mission is that we are an inclusive community where everyone is made to feel welcome.

Where are your favorite places to visit?

The Clarke Theatre

We are very fortunate to have a beautiful proscenium theatre that can host 702 people. I had the privilege of working there for many years and have always loved this gathering place.  It brings people of diverse ages and backgrounds together, both locals and visitors, and allows us to showcase a wide variety of productions.

Fraser River Heritage Park

This is like my second home; I know every bench, nook, and cranny.  It is such a special place, with its summer music events, celebrations, walking trails, views, and historical significance. For me, it is a place that speaks to who we were, who we are now, and who we want to be in the future.

Westminster Abbey

This is one of our most recognizable landmarks and is a great place to reflect and gather one’s thoughts.  The location itself is idyllic and the stained-glass windows in the church are stunning, changing with the time of day and the seasons.  For me, the Abbey is an excellent example of Mission’s many spiritual places and our connection to the natural landscape.  We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful and inclusive community.

I moved here just before the rock was discovered and the significance of this site was realized.  The lessons of the transformer rock, teaching the importance of learning from our past and sharing our knowledge for future generations really resonates with me.
